Aug 28 Basford B Secure Division 2 Title: Basford B crowned the champions of Division 2, to round off a highly successful season for the club having already claimed the Division 1 trophy.
Aug 20 Titles For Basford A and Abbey View C: Basford A have secured the Division 1 championship with a week to spare, whilst Abbey View C secured the Division 3 title with a thumping 4-0 victory over nearest challengers Endon B. Not such good news for Florence B and Alsager B as they are relegated to Division 3, whilst Abbey View A and Florence C meet in the final week of the season to determine which of them will be relegated to Division 2.
Aug 11 Alsager A Relegated: Alsager A have been relegated from Division 1 with 2 matches still remaining. Basford A need just 5 points from their remaining 2 games to be crowned champions, whilst Abbey View C have confirmed promotion to Division 2, almost certainly as champions.
Aug 04 Dale Cup News: The annual Dale Cup for division 2 and 3 teams will take place at Florence Tennis club on Wednesday 30th August commencing at 6.30 p.m. Please pair up with a partner from the regular team that you have been playing in. Therefore it is possible to enter 1 to 3 partnerships for each league team. It would be helpful if interested parties text Alan Challinor on 07816345317 or e mail alan@bankruptcyservice.co.uk in advance, so that the organisers can have an idea of how many teams are likely to be playing.
Jul 29 Basford A Blow Title Race Wide Open: Basford A blew the Division 1 title race wide open with a 4-0 thrashing of long time leaders Draycott A, and move level on points with the reigning champions. In a good week for Basford, their B team beat nearest rivals Florence B to move 2 points clear at the top of Division 2, whilst Abbey View C are on course to land the Division 3 championship as they are now well clear at the top of the table.
Jul 21 Championship Decider?: Florence B and Basford B are locked at the top of Division 2 with identical records, so could this weeks clash between the 2 teams decide where the title ends up?
Jul 16 Abbey View C Open up Lead: Abbey View C have opened up a decent lead at the top of Division 3, with Draycott A still remaining in prime position in Division 1.
Jul 08 Exciting Finishes in Prospect: It's still nip and tuck in the promotion and relegation battles as the season approaches an exciting conclusion, with a large number of teams still with lots to play for.
Jul 02 Relegation Battles: It's not looking good for Alsager A as they are cast adrift at the foot of Division 1, whilst Alsager B and Stone C appear in trouble at the bottom of Division 2.
Jun 23 Tight at the Top of 3: It still remains tight at the top of Division 3 with Abbey View C maintaining a slender advantage. A battle for the runners-up spot in Division 1 looks like going the distance with 4 teams in contention, whilst Florence B and Basford B continue to go well at the top of Division 2.
Jun 17 All to Play For: As the season approaches the half way stage there's all to play for on the promotion and relegation front as teams do battle for honours.
Jun 10 Draycott A Flying: Draycott A are 5 points clear at the top of Division 1 as their relentless persuit of another title continues after a 4-0 win over nearest rivals Florence A.
Jun 02 Half Point Between Top 3 in Division 2: Abbey View B, Basford B and Florence B are separated by just ½ point at the top of Division 2, whilst Abbey View C have opened up a 2 point lead at the top of Division 3.
May 27 Draycott Heading Divisions 1 and 3: Draycott are leading the way in Divisions 1 and 3, with Florence B holding a slender lead at the top of Division 2 as the leagues start to take shape.
May 20 Abbey View C and Draycott C Going Well in Division 3: Abbey View C and Draycott C have made flying starts to their campaigns in League 3 with both teams picking up a maximum 12 points from the opening 3 games.
May 12 Tight at Top of Division 2: It's tight at the top of Division 2, as this league looks set to follow the pattern of previous seasons.
May 07 Good Start for Florence A: Florence A join Westlands A at the top of Mens 1 having achieved full points from the opening two matches of the season.
May 04 Maximum Points: Westlands A, Abbey View D and Basford D have all collected a maximum 8 points from their opening two matches as they head the leagues at this early stage of the season.
